All horse enthusiasts are welcome to attend.

BIHORA has not-for-profit status and as such is bound by the rules and regulations of a formal organization. Our Annual General Meeting, held in November, is an opportunity for members to vote in a new executive. Any BIHORA member is welcome to run for an executive position.

President
- set the agenda for executive meetings
- chair meetings
- oversee all club business
- have a general overview of club activities and involvement in different areas.
- keep track of grants
- write monthly President’s Message in the Pony Express
- answer requests for information from club members and the general public
- keep the club active and fun

Vice President
- work alongside the President and assume President’s position in his/her absence

Treasurer / Membership
- maintain current accounting records
- do bank deposits & monthly statement reconciliation
- accounts payable/receivables
- invoicing Pony Express advertisers
- insurance & membership (BC Horse Council) renewals
- coordinate with Membership to ensure dues are payed up

- maintain accurate membership list with addresses (snail mail & email)
- coordinate with Treasurer to ensure dues are paid up
- prepare membership renewal form
- coordinate annual membership drive/renewal

Secretary
- take meeting minutes at executive meetings
- create summary for publication in the Pony Express
- distribute to executive

Executive Director – Pony Express
- compile, print and send-out monthly newsletter
- secure advertisers for the Pony Express

Executive Director – Trails
- liaise with the Muni and act as the advocate for equestrian trails on Bowen.
- suggest solutions to trails with terrain unsuitable for horses
- suggest equestrian trail consideration in new developments
- sit on the municipality’s Greenways Committee
- participate in Greenways Committee walkabouts for new trail proposals

Committee Member – Meadows
- coordinate maintenance of The Meadows
- liaise with Metro Vancouver (Meadows land owner) where necessary

Committee Member – Shows
- coordinate shows and show information for on- and off-island participation

Committee Member – Fundraising
- coordinate fundraising activities and events
